Earwax Removal
Earwax removal is important for maintaining healthy ears and optimal hearing. While earwax (cerumen) is a natural substance that protects the ear canal by trapping dirt and preventing infections, excessive buildup can cause problems.
It may be tempting to reach for a q-tip when your ears are feeling clogged, but this can exacerbate the problem or even lead to punctured ear drums. Having a professional clean your ears is the safest and most effective way to remove the wax. At Integral Audiology, we have several methods of removing earwax:

Irrigation
Irrigation is the preferred method of wax removal as it is safe, effective, and comfortable for the patient. We use the Earigator system for safe wax removal.
Manual Wax Removal
Some individuals may not be candidates for water irrigation to remove wax, and that’s okay! We can still manually remove wax from your ears using a lighted curette and magnification.
